Gallery Sosa 2021
Gallery Sosa is located in a town in South Korea called Bucheon, which was previously called "Sosa". The gallery owner named the gallery with the town's old name because he missed Sosa, his hometown where peaches were famous.
The gallery owner liked the logo a lot so he asked a famous artist to paint it in oil paint, and he displayed it in the gallery.
The gallery has a classic atmosphere of interior design, but it holds various exhibitions ranging from modern art to famous old art works.
The gallery owner explained about the gallery and logo design
in an interview with a major Korean news media company.
He also wanted to make a logo for a cafe by adding the word 'cafe' to the same logo because he planned to open a gallery cafe on the upper floor of the gallery.
There is a peach tree in the logo that represents Sosa, which was famous for peaches in the past. In addition, the logo was designed by combining a simple picture frame with trees to imply the place is a gallery.
At first, I proposed four variants of the logo, and the gallery owner was satisfied with all of them, but chose a white version of the logo on the black background because it looked the most luxurious.
